Habitats, Life Cycle, Reproductive Phase, & Common Issues

  • German Roaches are typically found on the interiors of homes. Most commonly in areas where food is available, or water. Kitchen cabinets, behind kitchen appliances, and bathrooms are their preferred habitats.
  • The egg sack can contain 30-40 eggs. Once hatched the life span on average runs 100 days. On the lower end roughly ~50 days, on the extreme end ~200 days.
  • Roaches reproduce at an extremely fast pace, with females only needing to mate one time in their lifespan to be able to lay eggs. Each female can lay an estimated 350-400 eggs in her life.
  • Common issues paired with an infestation can range from them contaminating food, a musty smell, ruining appliance electrical, and sputum/feces being able to transmit disease/pathogens.
