- Reddish-Brown in color
- Range between 1 1/4" - 2 1/8" in length
- Dual dark circular pattern on head / Lighter figure 8 on head
Life Cycle, Habitats, & Diet
- American Roaches are the largest species of roach in North America
- Often called a "Waterbug"
- Life cycle from egg to an adult is roughly 600 days. Once they reach the adult stage they can survive another estimated 400 days
- Often feed on organic decaying material
- Typically live in moist, shady areas, but also often frequent commercial areas such as stores and restaurants
- Can pose a health hazard due to cross contamination from human waste/sewage
